Jim DiClementi

          James DiClementi - husband of classmate Therese Malone DiClementi

James "Jim" "Dico" DiClementi, passed away February 5, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with Myelofibrosis. He was born in Springfield on September 15, 1956 to the late Dominic and Arlene (Miller) DiClementi. Jim grew up in Agawam and was a graduate of Agawam High School. For 33 years, Jim worked at Bart Truck in West Springfield before purchasing the business in 2010 with his wife and sons, fulfilling his dream of owning a business. Jim loved browsing antique shops both locally and in Maine. He had an extensive collection of toy cars, antique chairs for his grandchildren, and other memorabilia. Jim's passion for old trucks and cars was evident, notably through his restoration of a 1939 Oldsmobile. He also joyfully dedicated his time to coaching his sons' baseball and football teams in East Longmeadow and spending time with his grandchildren. Jim was always ready and willing to assist family and friends with any projects. Jim leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Therese (Malone); sons Christopher and his wife, Carolyne (Avezzie) and Timothy and his wife, Amy (Proulx). He was the proud grandpa and "Papa" to his grandchildren Dominic, Giuliana, Vincenzo, Francesca and Carina, who brought him much joy and happiness. Jim also leaves his brother Mark (Barbara) DiClementi; sister Karen (Donald) Howard; brothers-in-law Edward (Deborah) Malone, Mark (Ruth) Malone, and Luke (Jennifer) Malone; mother-in-law Mary Teden-Doe; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his baby brother Kenny DiClementi and grandmothers Serafina DiClementi and Anna Miller. Visiting hours for Jim will be held from 4-7PM on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow, MA. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13th beginning at 8:45AM from the funeral home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10AM, at St. Michael's Church, East Longmeadow, MA. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield, MA.
