Judy Duggan

Judith Duggan-sister of classmate Jane Duggan Roulier

Judy A. Duggan, 84, passed away on April 11, 2024 from complications due to Dementia. Judy was born in Springfield, MA on February 27, 1940, to parents Charles Duggan and Winifred (Doty) Duggan. She grew up in East Longmeadow, graduated from Classical High School in 1958 and from the University of Massachusetts in 1962 with a degree in Mathematics.
Directly out of college Judy obtained employment as a controller, at AT&T in White Plains, NY. During her 32-year career, Judy held several Manager/Controller positions at AT&T Corporate Headquarters, New York, NY, Basking Ridge, NJ, and Morristown, NJ, until her retirement in 1994.
After retirement, Judy moved from White Plains, NY. back to her childhood home in East Longmeadow, where she resided until her illness prevented her from living on her own. It was at AT&T where she met her longtime best friend, Susan Turnbull. Their favorite pastime was taking adventurous vacations all around the globe and enjoyed each other's company in all sorts of escapades.
In her younger years, Judy was quite athletic and played softball, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, skiing, and bowling. She also hiked and camped. Judy loved the ocean and spent many summertime vacations with family at the beach. She had a special fondness for anything "DISNEY" and enjoyed several trips to Disney World with friends and family.
Judy was the "Fun Auntie", always up for a good time. She had an infectious smile and loved to laugh. One of Judy's hobbies was genealogical research and spent many hours building a family history that went all the way back to the Mayflower, for which we are all grateful. She was also the planner of annual family picnics and reunions. Into her late 70's, she was the first one to jump into the pool or play slip and slide along with her great nieces and nephews.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Edward "Red" Duggan from Denver, CO. in 1967, and John Duggan of Feeding Hills, MA. in 2023. She is survived by her brothers Charles "Jim" Duggan of Ludlow, MA, and Gene Duggan and his wife Teresa of Tahoe Vista, CA, and sister Jane Roulier and husband Dan of East Longmeadow, MA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their children.
Although Judy is not with us in body, her spirit lives on in all of our hearts forever.
Her care has been entrusted to Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, East Longmeadow, MA. Her burial will be held privately by her family.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Michaels Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow, MA. 01028. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.forastiere.com.
