Bruce Allen McClure of Celtic Court in Enfield died Wednesday, September 10, 1997, at his home. He was 44. Born in Springfield, Mass., he lived in East Longmeadow, Mass., before moving to Enfield in 1983. A 1971graduate of East Longmeadow High School, he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from American International College in Springfield.
Mr. McClure was employed as an eighth-grade special-education teacher at the Gerena Middle School in Springfield for the past five years and was previously employed for several years at Preston Engravers in Windsor Locks. He was a member of the Springfield Wesleyan Church and was actively involved in the church youth group. He was also active in the Enfield Soccer Club as a volunteer and assistant coach. Mr. McClure was also a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Education Association.
Besides his wife, Patti Crowley McClure, he leaves his father, Kenneth W. McClure of East Longmeadow; twin daughters and a son, Kristen Mary, Kari Anne and Kenneth Michael, all at home; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerald "Bud'' and Mary Bruno Crowley of Enfield; and a brother-in-law, Michael Francis Crowley of Enfield. His mother, Priscilla Gates McClure, and his twin brother, Kenneth W. McClure Jr., died previously.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Springfield Wesleyan Church, 98 White St., Springfield. Burial will be in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the church.

Bruce's widow passed away on January 9, 2023. They were married on September 3, 1983.
