Our friend, the "Streaker," passed away March 30, 2014 from injuries received in a slip and fall accident. This information was confirmed by Scott Grabowski after a conversation with Steve's sister, Sharon. Steve was likely born in Jamaica Plain, MA on June 16, 1953, to Francis and Marilyn Fairbanks. Francis died suddenly on November 21, 1954 when Steve was just 1 year, 5 months old. His mother later remarried Mr. William F. Egan and they settled in East Longmeadow in 1966. In high school, Steve was very active in sports. He played basketball, baseball and soccer. Steve also worked on the school newspaper, the Spartan Spirit, belonged to the student government in his junior year and also participated in the math league. Steve was predeceased by his mother in 1996. He leaves his step-father, sister Sharon, wife Mary Lynn and two daughters, Briana and Melissa.
