Kevin J. Brown, 29, of 414 Chestnut Street, Springfield, died Sunday (March 6, 1983) in Baystate Medical Center after a long battle with diabetes.  Born in Springfield, April 10, 1953, he lived in East Longmeadow for twenty years, returning to Springfield nine years ago.

He was a 1971 graduate of East Longmeadow High School, and was a member of the Greater Springfield Association of the Blind. His mother, Muriel A. (Ryan) Brown, died in 1973.  He leaves his father and stepmother, Dr. James P. and Mary M. Brown; six sisters, Karen Craven of East Longmeadow, Maryellen Brown of North Andover, Margaret Sullivan of Tewksbury, Kathleen Brasile, Christine Conway and Colleen Rivas, all of Springfield; and his grandmother, Mary C. Ryan of Springfield.

The funeral will be Wednesday 9:00 AM at the Hafey East Longmeadow Chapels and in St. Michael's Church, East Longmeadow at 10:00 with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours are Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 377 Elliott Street, Newton Upper Falls, MA 02164, or the Greater Springfield Association of the Blind, P. O. Box 3512, Springfield, MA 01101.
