Robert D. Hafey, 33, of 420 Sumner Avenue, Springfield, co-owner and operator of the South Main Street Guest House in Great Barrington, died Monday, September 15, in Mercy Hospital after a long illness.  Hafey had been the proprietor of the guest house for three years.

He was born in Springfield and had lived here most of his life.  He was a member of the Springfield Music Club and the Stockbridge Chamber Concert Group. Bob was also president of his senior class at East Longmeadow High School.

He leaves a brother, David F. of Boston, two sisters, Mary T. Hafey of Springfield and Patricia A. Aleks of East Longmeadow, his grandparents, Francis I. and Mary (Gavin) Hafey of Key Biscayne, Florida.

The funeral will be Thursday morning at Hafey Forest Park Chaples and in Sacred Heart Church with burial in St. Jerome Cemetery, Holyoke.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Tuesday Morning Music Club, in care of Lois Barnes, 202 Falley Drive, Westfield, MA 01085.
