Thomas H. Thompson

Thomas H. Thompson, 26, of 182 Florida Street, Springfield, member of the junior class at Western New England College, was found dead Monday, November 12, 1979 at home. Dr. William Mosig, Hampden County Medical Examiner, had been dead about five days when his body was found in a closet. Police said they are treating the case as an apparent suicide caused by asphyxiation from hanging.

Born in Buffalo, NY, he lived in East Longmeadow several years and in Springfield a year. He was a 1971 graduate of East Longmeadow High School, and was a communicant of St. Michael's Church of East Longmeadow. He leaves his parents, Donald E. and Kathleen A. (Scannell) Thompson of East Longmeadow, three brothers, Donald E. Jr. and Timothy R. of Longmeadow, Michael J. of Nutley, NJ, and a sister Mary E. of East Longmeadow. The funeral will be Thursday at East Longmeadow Funeral Home and in the church with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Mental Health Association of Greater Springfield, 53 Van Buren Avenue, Springfield.

Tom was president of our freshman and sophomore classes at ELHS.
